Readers’ Gallery: Will’s 1/48 Tamiya P-51D
Our very own Will Nichols (spaced) posted these pics of his P-51D, built for a very special purpose- a wedding! I bet that’s a first! Great job Will!
Did this one as a quick-build for a friends 2nd wedding. He & his wife reaffirmed their vows after 25 years, and his wife asked me to surprise him with a P-51 for the grooms table. It’s just an out of the box airframe with an Ultracast seat & Super Scale decals. It was painted with Tamiya spray cans, AS-12 & TS-17. I was quite pleased with how the Tamiya rattle cans worked out. One of the nicer metallic finishes I have seen from a can.
Needless to say, he was thrilled with his gift, and I was honored to build it for him.
Will, that’s a great looking Mustang.
Look at all those goodies on that table!! Is this Mustang 72nd or 48th scale?? Either way, looks great, even beside the chocolate!!
